Wondering about the Bowflex Treadclimber ceiling height requirements? What ceiling height do you need? Good question.

It’s natural to assume that you’re going to be walking a bit higher on the Treadclimber than on a treadmill – just because of the treadles that rise to meet you with each step you take.

While the Treadclimber tends to have a smaller length and width than a standard treadmill, you also want to make sure it will fit well with your ceiling height.

And surprisingly enough it can be pretty challenging to find the answer to the Bowflex Treadclimber ceiling height issue.

So I did some research and found out the answer direct from the Manufacturer.

I’ve listed what I’ve been told below to help you figure it out for your specific situation. I’ve also run some number below so you can apply them to your own home gym area.

Note however that I do not work for Bowflex.

So if you’re going to buy a Bowflex Treadclimber anywhere, be sure that you know all the details on the machine you’re buying from the official Manufacturer’s site here.

So let’s get started.

Bowflex Treadclimber Ceiling Height – Questions Answered

Note that the ceiling height will also depend on the Treadclimber model that you use. The TC200 is a few inches higher than the TC100 model. So make sure to take that into consideration as you’re reading the numbers below.

Bowflex TC100 Ceiling Height Requirements:

According the manufacturer, at their highest point the treadles on the TC100 model are 14.5 inches or 36.8 cm from the floor.

So you take the tallest user in your home (for this article I’ll assume that’s you) and add this to their/your height, plus a couple of inches for comfortable clearance. That is your ceiling height requirement.

Fourteen and a half inches converts to 1.21 feet. So let’s run some numbers.

If you’re 6 feet tall, you’ll need to add another 1.21 feet onto your height: 6 + 1.21 = 7.21 feet.

So now add about 0.16 feet (which is about 2 inches) of extra room and that gives you a safe ceiling height of around 7.37 or 7.4 feet.

If you’re 5 foot 5 inches that’s a bit trickier. We have to convert those 5 inches to feet first.

Five inches is about 0.42 feet. So technically someone who is 5 foot 5 inches is 5.42 feet tall.

Now add on another 1.21 feet to that: 5.42 + 1.21 = 6.63 feet

Add on another 0.16 feet of extra space and that gives you 6.63 + 0.16 = 6.79 feet

So you’ll need a ceiling height of 6.79 feet if you are 5 foot 5 inches. You could easily get away with a lower 7 foot ceiling in this case.

Here are some more calculations for you. Remember that these are for the Bowflex TC100 Treadclimber. (See below for the TC200 model.)

Someone who is 5 foot 7 inches needs a ceiling height of 5.58 + 1.21+0.16 = 6.95 feet

Someone who is 5 foot 9 inches needs a ceiling height of 5.75 + 1.21 + 0.16 = 7.12 feet

Someone who is 5 foot 11 inches needs a ceiling height of 5.92 + 1.21 + 0.16 = 7.29 feet

Someone who is 6 foot 2 inches needs a ceiling height of 6.17 + 1.21 + 0.16 = 7.54 feet

Bowflex TC200 Ceiling Height Requirements:

According the manufacturer, at their highest point the treadles on the TC200 Treadclimber are 17 inches or 43 cm from the floor.

Seventeen inches converts to 1.42 feet. So let’s run the numbers for you.

If you’re 6 feet tall, you’ll need to add another 1.42 feet onto your height: 6 + 1.42 = 7.42 feet.

Then add about .16 feet (which is about 2 inches) of extra room. And you have a safe ceiling height of around 7.58 or 7.6 feet.

Here are some more calculations for you based on this formula:

Someone who is 5 foot 5 inches needs a ceiling height of 5.42 + 1.42+0.16 = 7 feet

Someone who is 5 foot 7 inches needs a ceiling height of 5.58 + 1.42+0.16 = 7.16 feet

Someone who is 5 foot 9 inches needs a ceiling height of 5.75 + 1.42 + 0.16 = 7.33 feet

Someone who is 5 foot 11 inches needs a ceiling height of 5.92 + 1.42 + 0.16 = 7.5 feet

Someone who is 6 foot 2 inches needs a ceiling height of 6.17 + 1.42 + 0.16 = 7.75 feet

So I hope that helps you figure out what kind of Bowflex Treadclimber ceiling height you’ll need for your particular situation!
